History

This hill overlooks the valley where the Guayubín River traces the natural border with Haiti. A strategic lookout since colonial times for monitoring passage and smuggling, today it serves as a natural watchtower. From up top you can see El Peñón down below, the river snaking through the landscape, and the Cordillera Central rising in the distance. A place of cool breezes and vistas that explain the geography of the Northwest Line better than any map ever could.
