History
Fed by the Nizao River on Loma de la Cuaba, this roughly 30-meter (100-foot) drop forms crystal-cold natural pools. The name comes from the shape of the rock where the water hits — said to resemble a goat's back (chivo = goat). It's a must-stop on the ecotourism route toward the San José de Ocoa mountains, where the Estebanía community protects the surroundings and guides visitors through coffee groves and cloud forest.
