Born from the Jamao al Norte River, this waterfall forms where the Cordillera Septentrional drops sharply toward the Cibao Valley. The name comes from the shape of the drop: a steep, twisting chute that, seen in profile, looks like the arched back of a crouching tiger. For generations it was the main route for *conuqueros* (small farmers) and woodcutters hauling coffee and yuca down to Las Guáranas; today the trail still carries that campesino footprint, and the water stays clean because the upper watershed remains forested.
