Fed by the Yagüita stream tumbling off Loma de Las Guáranas, the falls have carved a series of natural rock pools. Campesinos once used them for laundry and a cool-down after working the conuco (small family farm). Today it's the town's go-to swimming hole: whole families show up Sundays to simmer sancocho (hearty Dominican stew) on the bank and catch a 'chin' (quick splash) of icy water under the curtain of the cascade.
