From the Mirador del Cerro de los Mangos in Las Guáranas, you get a sweeping view over the Yuna Valley and the Cordillera Septentrional. The drive up is on a rural dirt road — any car can make it, just take it slow. Best at sunset for those wide-open panoramic shots. Bring water and wear sturdy shoes; there's almost no shade at the top. This is the real Cibao — no crowds, no tourist fluff, just raw Dominican countryside.

This hill has always been a landmark for locals. From up here you can see the whole Jaya Valley and Loma Quita Espuela. Back in the day it was a lookout for the *conucos* (small farms) and a route for charcoal makers.
