Cascada El Naranjo

Tucked near Las Matas de Farfán, Cascada El Naranjo is a crystal-clear waterfall born in the mountains, spilling into a natural pool that's perfect for a refreshing dip. Fed by springs in Loma de Cabrera, this cascade forms clear pools shaded by guácima (wild fig) and jobo (Spondias mombin) trees. For generations, local farmers have cooled off here after long days working the conuco (small family farm). The name comes from the wild orange trees lining the falls. Today it's a must-stop on the ecotourism route toward the Sierra de Neiba, where the water emerges icy and clean from the undergrowth.
