What is Cascada El Pino?

Tucked away in Loma de Cabrera, Cascada El Pino is a natural stunner that takes your breath away. Cool water tumbles into a perfect swimming hole — just the ticket for shaking off the heat. Getting there is half the fun: an easy hike through coffee groves and guácimos (wild guava trees) that's great for the whole family. The spot is clean, peaceful, and has that pure countryside vibe that melts stress away. Pack a cooler, leave no trace, and enjoy a dip you'll be talking about for years. An authentic slice of the Northwest Line (Línea Noroeste) to reconnect with the real DR.

History

The falls spring from Loma de Cabrera, right in the heart of the Sierra de Neiba, where the Maguaca River winds through coffee plantations and cloud forest. For generations, local farmers have cooled off here after a long day's work. The name comes from the high-altitude pines framing the cascade. These days, it's a must-stop on the ecotourism route toward Hoyo de Pelempito.
