Cerro de la Silla Overlook

From the Cerro de la Silla Overlook in Loma de Cabrera, you command sweeping views of the Dajabón River valley and the Cordillera Central. The hill gets its name from the saddle-shaped silhouette of its summit. You can drive up a dirt road, then walk the last few minutes on foot. On clear days, you get a 360° panorama stretching toward Haiti, the salt flats, and the Sierra de Neiba. Golden sunrises light up the border zone. Bring water, a hat, and sturdy shoes — there are zero facilities at the top. Perfect for landscape photography and spotting raptors. Access from downtown Loma de Cabrera via the road that climbs to the radio repeater.

From up here you can see the valley where the Dajabón River is born and the line that joins two nations. A strategic vantage point during the Restoration War, today it serves as a natural watchtower for anyone wanting to read the border landscape without crossing the fence.
