La Loma de Cabrera Ecological Park

La Loma de Cabrera Ecological Park protects cloud forests and river headwaters in the Septentrional Mountain Range. Shaded trails lead to overlooks with sweeping views of the valley and the Dajabón River. It's a prime spot for spotting endemic birds like the Hispaniolan parrot and the Antillean mango hummingbird. The cool, constantly humid climate nurtures orchids and giant ferns. Local guides explain the area's vital hydrological importance. Born as a community and municipal initiative to protect the Dajabón River watershed and the area's remaining dry forest remnants.
