What is Cayo Blanco?
Cayo Blanco is a paradisiacal islet off the coast of La Romana, a sand bank surrounded by perfectly transparent turquoise waters sheltering extraordinary coral reefs just meters from shore. This small unpopulated sandbar appears and partially disappears with the tides, creating a unique visual spectacle where white sand blends seamlessly with the Caribbean Sea. It is the perfect base for snorkeling and diving, with visibility frequently exceeding 80 feet and incredibly diverse marine life.

History
Cayo Blanco has been a reference point for La Romana fishermen for generations. Its name perfectly describes the white quartz sand comprising it. The tourism boom in La Romana and Casa de Campo from the 1970s onward transformed this cay into a daily excursion destination while preserving its marine ecosystem through regulated dive operators.
