History

From this ridge you can see the valley where the Yaque del Norte (the Dominican Republic's longest river) flows — the lifeline that gave rise to Los Hidalgos. The name honors the area's first settlers of Spanish origin who put down roots in these Cibao lands. Today the viewpoint acts as a natural balcony overlooking the Cordillera Septentrional (Northern Mountain Range) and the conucos (traditional small farms) that keep the region's agricultural heritage alive.
