El Limón Waterfall (Paraíso – Los Pinos Sector)

El Limón Waterfall, tucked away in the Los Pinos sector of Paraíso, Barahona, drops 40 meters into a natural pool framed by endemic vegetation. Reaching it takes a moderate hike on mountain trails with a local guide — well worth the sweat. The water is cold, crystal-clear, and perfect for cooling off after the trek. No shops, no crowds, just raw southwest Dominican wilderness — ideal for eco-tourism and landscape photography.

Born from the Limón River on Loma de la Guácara, this 40-meter cascade has sheltered campesinos and served as a conuco trail for generations. The path, carved by the Los Pinos community, winds through cacao and guineo groves before opening to the falls, where icy water washes the dust from your legs and the zumbador's song soundtracks your swim.
