Pico de Polo Lookout

From the Pico de Polo Lookout, you get a front-row seat to the Bahoruco mountain range and the valley where Polo's famous coffee grows. That crisp mountain air hits different up here while you take in the Sierra de Neiba stretching out ahead. It's a mandatory stop on the coffee trail — the endless green ridges make for killer photos. Get there early to catch that golden hour light washing over the coffee plantations and soak up the kind of quiet you only find at elevation.

A natural viewpoint atop Loma de Polo, sitting over 3,600 feet up. It started as a watchpoint and rest stop along the old coffee route toward Barahona. From here you can see the Neyba Valley, the Bahoruco range, and on clear days, the Caribbean Sea glittering in the distance. It's the ultimate symbol of highland life: shade-grown coffee, midday mist rolling in, and the deep Polo pride in showing off their 'balcony to the south.'
